Law Office of Anne E. Gillespie

The Law Office of Anne E. Gillespie is open and fully operational during COVID-19. While other family law offices are closed during this difficult time, our office remains fully operational. My attorneys and paralegal are working remotely with voice over IP phones and video conferencing for interactive consultations and client meetings.

Maureen E. Booth
  • Senior Associate Attorney

Newton, MA

Maureen E. Booth joined the Law Office of Anne E. Gillespie as a Senior Associate Attorney in October 2020. Ms. Booth concentrates her practice in all areas of domestic relations including divorce, custody, child support, modification, alimony, and paternity matters. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Booth worked as a Senior Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Sheara F. Friend, and at McEvoy & Stuntz LLC, domestic relations law firms in Metrowest Boston, and had her own solo practice prior to that.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Booth spent several years as a litigation paralegal working for different types of firms ranging from small general practices to large international and global firms. She has assisted in representing many types of clients, from individual Plaintiffs to large corporate Defendants such as DuPont, McDonnell Douglas, TWA and John Deere, as well as a large plane crash case filed as multi-district litigation in Michigan. She worked in St. Louis and Los Angeles prior to settling in Massachusetts. Once she entered law school, her internships included clerking for the Massachusetts District Courts and for the Attorney General’s office. Ms. Booth was a member of New England Law Review and graduated cum laude. Notably, she carried all three of her sons while attending law school (nights, over 5 years), reflecting that she really is an overachiever!

Attorney Booth’s range of education and experience helps her to bring a focus and perspective to cases that other attorneys may not have, and an ability to identify and creatively solve legal problems that only comes with years and a variety of experience.
Her interests outside the law include playing bass guitar, theater, and coaching her sons’ basketball teams. Though raised in the Midwest, she has lived in Massachusetts since 1995 and considers New England her home, raising her three sons as die-hard Patriots and Celtics fans.

Since 2013, Ms. Booth has volunteered her time for the Middlesex and Worcester Probate Courts’ Lawyer of the Day programs, offering free legal advice to indigent litigants. Since 2016, Ms. Booth has been actively involved in the Attorneys Representing Children ("ARC") program through the Middlesex Probate and Family Court, which provides pro bono representation for children in high-conflict domestic relations proceedings. She is also involved in Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, an organization dedicated to helping lawyers and law students respond positively to personal and professional stresses.
